The EHT Switching Power Amplifier (SPA) is a IGBT or SiC MOSFET-based full bridge designed to drive resisitive, inductive, and resonant loads. The EHT SPA includes independent, fiber-optically isolated gates for each leg of the full bridge allowing the user to control which bridge legs are in forward conduction vs freewheeling. Integrated safety features prevent shoot-through.
The EHT SPA simplifies electromagnetic coil driving and plasma generation allowing customers to rapidly develop and deploy a power system for their application.
Suitable uses are PWM magnet control, helicon and inductive plasma generation, resonant circuit driving, electromagnetic coil driving, and more.

Fiber-Optically Isolated Gate Drive
EHT’s patented precision gate drive produces clean switching waveforms. The low jitter gate (< 5 ns) drive allows these units to be operated in parallel to drive even higher currents into your load. The precision gate drive produces very fast switch transitions, which significantly decreases the switching losses. At high frequency operation, they are significantly more efficient than competing switches on the market (FT-1s are included)
The Fiber Optic Transmitter with Interlock Control allows users to safely control up to four SPAs in parallel. There are four fiber/BNC gate inputs. Each gate input goes to four fiber gate outputs. The interlock controller will accept up to eight fibers that can come from the SPAs or other lab safety interlock systems. If any of the interlocks are tripped, the gate signal will not pass from input to output. Additionally, there is an interlock status fiber that can go back to a master control system.
